The London Institute for Healthcare Engineering (LIHE), in partnership with Public Policy Projects (PPP), is pleased to announce the launch of The LIHE Breakfast, a new series convening thought leaders from across the healthcare ecosystem to advance innovation, technology and policy in the UK and beyond.

Designed for focus and impact, the series unites those experiencing the realities of today’s healthcare challenges with decision-makers positioned to influence real change. Discussions will generate actionable solutions, with insights and recommendations published to ensure the conversation continues beyond the room.
With LIHE’s leadership and PPP’s expertise, our mission is to advance healthcare through innovation and technology, uplifting the sector to achieve greater impact.
"The challenges of the NHS are well documented, with Innovation considered one of the main ways to allow it to continue providing world-class care. The LIHE Breakfast brings the right people together to break down barriers and turn innovation into impact. Working with PPP, we aim to accelerate the technologies and policies that will deliver real benefits for patients.”
Dr Nicolas Huber, Chief Operating Officer, London Institute for Healthcare, King's College London
Rooted in LIHE’s mission to see the technologies it supports positively impact patients, the series will utilise LIHE’s ecosystem to convene leaders and influence the direction of policy to support the ecosystem to advance together, so more technologies impact patients in the UK and globally.
All sessions will take place under the Chatham House Rule, ensuring open and constructive discussions.

LIHE are delighted to announce PPP as its exclusive delivery partner for The LIHE Breakfast. PPP brings a proven track record of convening impactful conversations that inform national policy. Previous PPP breakfast reports have been referenced in major government strategies, including the Government’s 10 Year Health Plan.
Together, LIHE and PPP will codesign each event’s content, theme and panellist lineup to ensure the series addresses the most pressing challenges in the sector with the right people in the room to influence positive change.
Attendance will be limited to approximately 100 invited leaders and selected applicants, ensuring a high-quality, non-diluted room of diverse viewpoints. Representation will include:
Roundtable sessions will offer an extended platform for deeper, solutions focused discussion.
The first event in the series will take place in April 2026 on the theme ‘Technology as the foundation of NHS reinvention: How can we validate and scale promising solutions?’
This breakfast will explore how proven technologies can be scaled to meet the Government’s 10 Year Health Plan and wider productivity ambitions, shifting the conversation from diagnosing problems to identifying practical solutions, finding shared routes forward where everybody in the room benefits.
“No-one can doubt the importance of new tech solutions for the future of healthcare. Technology allows us to do more, identify avoidable risks, and improve the patient experience. Why then is adoption so problematic? It is a perennial question, but we need to take it more seriously. Failure to enlist the power of new technology is a form of professional negligence and should be treated as such.”
Rt Hon Stephen Dorrell, Chair – Public Policy Projects
We look forward to welcoming partners, innovators, clinicians, policymakers, leaders and more who want to be part of driving meaningful impact.
